Providing key allies with strategic advantages
STAC is a strategy hub for grassroots and community level organizations
We work with a network of local allies to give them a strategic advantage over those attempting to undermine our democracy. We deliver comprehensive support and expertise, analyses of local, statewide, and national data, and media insights and training.
STAC envisions a future where people have renewed faith in democracy, democratic institutions are strong, and an inclusive democracy, fully representative of all people, flourishes.
Historic levels of political violence, threats, and intimidation, as well as the rampant spread of racist, anti-Semitic, xenophobic, and apocalyptic conspiracy theories are impacting people and organizations across the U.S.
These activities breed fear and isolation, specifically among those upholding critical social infrastructure and democratic institutions.
STAC provides connective tissue to resource local organizers and independent groups committed to the defense of democracy.
This provides resilience nationally and concentrated reinforcement to communities that are under threat from anti-democratic forces.
STAC’s founders are experts on authoritarian movements and have vast organizing and communications experience in many issue areas.
They resource movements in the following areas:
Rapid Response
Local groups and leaders are targeted by sophisticated authoritarian networks. STAC provides local groups organizing assistance and game-changing support at critical periods to weaken authoritarian attacks on their communities.
Data
STAC brings data together, analyzes it holistically and with an eye to local needs, and surfaces trends that could potentially threaten communities and help strengthen their responses to those threats.
Media & Comms
Through media training work with local organizations, STAC creates communications hub to educate citizens, journalists, and officials on the theology and actors behind authoritarianism and political violence.

“Since the STAC team has begun working with me and other community leaders, I feel supported. Where I once felt alone, I am now hopeful that together we will implement a plan of action to successfully push hate back into the margins.”
-Randi Hewit, Community Foundation President
